Siamo orgogliosi dei nostri prodotti quando soddisfano almeno uno dei 3 pilastri dei nostri standard di progettazione globali. Inoltre, durante i processi di produzione, tutte le sostanze chimiche utilizzate devono essere controllate per verificare la conformità alla MRSL di ZDHC.
MATERIALI PREFERITI
Per soddisfare il nostro standard For A World That WorksTM, è importante che il prodotto contenga almeno il 70% del materiale in tessuto proveniente dal nostro elenco di materiali preferiti.
Il cotone menzionato nell'elenco dei nostri materiali preferiti comprende cotone coltivato secondo pratiche agricole avanzate, cotone riciclato proveniente da scarti post-consumo o post-industriali accertati o cotone certificato secondo criteri organici o di altro tipo. Come fibra complementare al cotone, utilizziamo fibre naturali tipo la canapa e il lino. Utilizziamo anche fibre sintetiche basate su polpa di legno naturale, come il lyocell e il modal, che vengono prodotte con una quantità inferiore di acqua ed energia rispetto al cotone tradizionale. Lo standard For a World that WorksTM è soddisfatto anche quando il tessuto proviene da una fabbrica di jeans (prima del taglio e della cucitura) che abbia ottenuto una riduzione di almeno il 90% nell'uso di acqua dolce rispetto a un valore di riferimento del 2018-2019.
Il nostro programma Indigood® misura, convalida e monitora annualmente il consumo di acqua dolce delle fabbriche di jeans, cercando di conservare milioni di litri e guidando il cambiamento in tutto il settore. Monitoriamo internamente i nostri processi di lavaggio utilizzando una piattaforma software di terze parti, l'Environmental Impact Measure (EIM) di Jeanologia.
Questo strumento valuta le aree relative ad acqua, energia, sostanze chimiche e salute dei lavoratori e calcola un "punteggio di impatto" complessivo. Per soddisfare il nostro standard For a World That WorksTM per le finiture a basso impatto, i prodotti devono essere trattati mediante tecniche di finitura sostenibili che abbiano ottenuto un "basso punteggio di impatto".

While Lee’s material footprint includes very few animal-derived materials, we believe in treating animals with care and respect and actively promote and pursue further development and use of viable commercial substitutes to animal-derived materials. In cases where we use animal derived materials in our products, we are committed to ensuring the animal’s ethical treatmen.

We are committed to the responsible use of forest-derived materials. Lee prioritizes the use of certified-sustainable sources, with a preference for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified materials. We also actively reduce virgin material use and increase materials with recycled content, with a priority to include both post-consumer recycled materials and innovative solutions including alternative fiber sources such as agriculture residues. To ensure social responsibility and environmental sustainability within our complex supply chain, we expect our contract supplier factories to comply with our Terms of Engagement and our Global Compliance Principles , which are regularly audited by our internal and third-party auditors. These Principles are brought to life through our Factory Facility Guidelines and Factory Audit Procedures. Our goal is for every supplier factory to operate with the same high standards as our owned manufacturing facilities.

The newest way to mimic a lived-in look, lasers can be used to create whiskers, holes, or patterns. The advanced process digitizes design and development, easily distressing a pair of Lee jeans in a few minutes.
Cotton certified to have been grown from non-genetically modified seeds, with minimal fertilizers and pesticides such as GOTS certified, OCS certified cotton.
Regenerative cotton uses farming practises that help to keep the land fertile, restore biodiversity and add carbon to the soil while aiming to secure the wealth of those who live on it.
Cotton from validated sources of postindustrial or post-consumer. Recycled cotton prevents additional textile waste and requires fewer resources than virgin cotton.

Restricted Substance List: Lee requires our suppliers and business partners to certify their compliance to our Restricted Substance List (RSL). The RSL is an integral part of quality and Manufacturing Control Programs in chemical management. Read our RSL here.
ZDHC MRSL – Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals Manufacturing Restricted Substances List is a list of chemical substances banned from intentional use in the processing of textile materials, leather, rubber, foam, adhesives and trims used in textiles, apparel, and footwear industry. Intentional use means the substance used deliberately in a chemical product to achieve a desired look or functionality.
